Our purpose
The purpose of D00RSY is tri-fold: get out there with nature-inspired, repairable gear and help us by moving sustainability, and mindful crafting forward.
THE WHAT
First of all, we support people in getting out there—into the real world and into nature—by crafting outstanding products built for an active, outdoor lifestyle.
Our products are handmade, high-quality items that are durable, repairable, and functional, without compromising aesthetics.
Our products are inspired by the world of outdoor movement, especially climbing. We are involved in different communities within this world, and we want to invite you into the ever-evolving community of movement.
It has become a lifestyle for us, and we hope to share some of that passion with you.
THE HOW
Secondly, the purpose of D00RSY is to actively participate in the transition within fashion toward sustainability and active participation—and away from limitless growth and passive consumption.
Our promise is to set principles of sustainable production and quality of craft above maximizing profit.
We turn the design process upside down and let access to low-impact and upcycled materials determine the frame of our product range.
We hope the extra time and care invested in the local design and production of our products can be felt and appreciated by those who buy them.
CULTURE CHANGE
Thirdly, D00RSY does not stand alone, and we want to make waves in the culture.
We are dedicated to spreading the values and practices of craftsmanship, upcycling, redesigning, and repairing. We do this not only through our uniquely designed products and repair service, but also via workshops and other educational formats.
We share our knowledge and inspire action by spreading a creative and positive awareness of materiality all around us.
We stand for actually caring about our materials—how we use them, spend them, take care of them, and how we upcycle, repair, or dispose of them in responsible ways.
This is how we redefine and reclaim being a “materialist” and change our mentality about how we consume materials.
Because our industry’s culture needs to change, we cannot continue mindlessly extracting, consuming, and trashing our material world.
